Infinite loading screen when resuming game

NOTE: I have already looked at the pinned post about infinite loading screens, but I couldn't find anything that helps with my issue. 

Ever since the latest update, I've been experiencing issues with an infinite loading screen whenever I try to resume my game from the home screen. It also happens when I try to make a new save file - I can get into CAS just fine, but then when I try to actually play with the household, I get an infinite loading screen. 

I looked at the main thread about infinite loading screens, but I still get the issue.
I've already tried the following things:

• Updating my mods and removing outdated ones (I did that before I first booted up the game after the update)
• Removing all my mods
• Repairing the game (multiple times at multiple stages of trying to fix my game)
• Renaming my game folder and starting the game again to create a new one
• Loading my game through 'load game' instead of 'resume game'
• Trying to load a different household/different lots

After renaming my game folder and doing all that, I did get my game to load a completely new save file like normal. But then, when I moved my save files back into the new folder, the issue started happening again.

I did get it to somewhat work if I do the following:

1. Press 'load game' instead of 'resume game'
2. Load a different household than my main one
3. Go to 'manage worlds'
4. Load my main household from manage worlds

If I do that, I can play my game. But I have to do that every. single. time. I want to play (which gets tiring because, you know, I have to go through 4+ loading screens just to start playing the game). And this is without mods at all.

So while the issue is kinda resolved, it's still annoying to have to do all that in order to play the game, but I don't know what else to do...

At this point, I've reinstalled my mods since they seemingly aren't the problem anyway, and they aren't causing any other problems.
