Steps: How can we find the bug ourselves? - Have a Sim with Level 8 or higher in Piano who is able to write songs - Remove all unfinished Sheet Music from inventory
What happens when the bug occurs? The Sim can no longer write songs or do any special actions on the Piano, only available actions are Practice, play concerto and play song.
What do you expect to see? Options such as Write Song, Serenade, Plunk for Inspiration and Jazz Up the Place should be available.
Have you installed any customization with the game, e.g. Custom Content or Mods? Never used.
Did this issue appear after a specific patch or change you made to your system? No
After removing all of the Sim's sheet music (which I did as I had several unfinished songs, not knowing I was starting a new one every time I clicked on "Write Song"), the options available at the piano become exclusively Practice, Play Concerto and Play Song, regardless of mood. The option to write a song is entirely missing. In addition, the option to license songs is entirely missing from the mailbox's action menu.
This situation makes progressing in the Musical Genius aspiration completely impossible.
To affirm this was a problem with the Sim itself and not my copy of the game, I used the cheat stats.set_skill_level Major_Piano 8 on a separate Sim and confirmed all the missing options were available to them. I have attempted to set the bugged Sim's piano skill back to 8 and it made no difference.
The bugged Sim's characteristics are: Musical Genius aspiration, Music Lover, Creative, Muser.
