Issue with Time travel component

So I've been trying to finish the next quest that the Sims 4 has going with Emmitt...  And the big one is the computer in my game didn't break like it said it would, so I can't fix it.  I don't kno...

    Try putting the computer outdoors when it is raining. It will break and then you can repair it.
