Issues with mermaid sims advancing through marine biologist career

Question

The daily task for sims to complete when promoted to marine biologist is to 'survey ocean wildlife' but mermaids cannot complete this task, as "snorkeling is a taboo subject"..

Mermaids could snorkel in sims 3, and I used this interaction a lot to get them to search for seashells/etc in the ocean.

This is frustrating, and it will take much longer to advance through the rest of the career...

I'm having the same issue. Very annoying. I'm trying to get around it by choosing to work from home, this can often get promotion without having to fulfill the daily task.&nbsp;
