Komorebi, gravestones, and holiday traditions

Just looking for some feedback and info on this, as I can't find anything.  Snowy Escape is still pretty new.  I noticed in Senbamachi there is a cemetary with a couple gravestones you can mourn at, and there is a new option "Place gift" which I thought was cool, to give more opportunity to play for people that follow faiths with ancestor veneration.  So I made a calendar with some holidays that had Remembrance tradition, but neither placing a gift, nor even the mourn interaction satisfied the tradition.  There wasn't a holiday icon next to them either.  

I haven't had a sim die yet, so maybe its because these graves aren't the same as the grave of a deceased sim.  I tried loading a generation save I had going, and their graves' interactions had holiday icons and satisfied the tradition, but they don't have the place gift interaction.  They were created before Snowy Escape though.  So my question is, do graves of sims in Komorebi work with this tradition, and do they give the Place gift interaction?  Will new graves of sims in other hoods give this interaction?  This is important to me that they do, so I want to give this feedback correctly as soon as possible.
