Less fence posts?

Question

Running Legacy edition on MAC. Not sure if it is MAC specific, but every time I put in a fence it puts a post on every grid square. So that all along a fence there are posts rather than stretching the fence and putting a post at the start and stop. I've tried every type of fence. I've tried all combinations of buttons when putting down a fence. I've tried building rooms and replacing with fence. I've looked all over the internet. No help. I've made one postless fence on a lot when I first started playing (meaning a post at the start and linear stop) but I don't know how I did it or what has changed.

Any help?

@kaffeinefix  Which fence is it? Are you sure it's not how the fence is designed to be? Moving to the General Discussion forum.

Specifically the glass fence with posts. Base game. But I tried all the fences and they all seem to do it. I know I was able to stretch the posts out in previous builds because I'm able to load them. But I can't make fences without a post every grid square now.
