Malcolm Landgraab disappeared from family tree

I don't know if this is a bug or not... but Malcolm Landgraab seems to have disappeared from my game. Even his tombstone no longer says RIP like Geoffrey's does? Now that he's no longer in the Landgr...

How long ago did he died? 
Did you strenghten his relationship to the world? I'm not sure how it's worded in english. 
unplayed ghost Sims disappear when that's not done. 

I've never played ghosts so not sure how it works if he was a played one instead of a free one.
