Memorial Event
How about adding/revising the death of a sim by allowing for a memorial to be held for the deceased sim. Maybe add it to the calendar as an event.

I’ve heard if you have charisma skill, an urn, and a podium, you can actually give a eulogy. I’ve not tried it though. But perhaps if you have a house party and give a eulogy?

Unfortunately the podium object is DLC. There are no Base Game podiums, so no Give Eulogy options available *for Base Game (edit).
Podiums can be found in City Living, Discover University and High School Years expansion packs. Maybe a Base Game podium could be provided where a Sim could "Practice Speech", like they can on a mirror, to level up the Charisma skill.
