Modular furniture not snapping to each other

So I was playing around with the new pack and wanted to use the new modular stuff and sectional sofas in a house, but for some reason most of the closet/cupboard items and none of the sectional sofa pieces are snapping to each other. They'll place next to each other, but I can't then pick it up as one piece.

Is anyone else having this issue?

Though they snap together they behave in  the same way as counters that don't move together either.

Ah I see. I thought they were supposed to move together like tables with chairs do. Thanks you for the reply!

@Psychotps , (and @MayaMoon1397  as well),  I don't find them severely finicky. 🤔  I have no problem with any of the new modular items snapping together in my game!  (I don't use any CC or Mods. That may or may not make a difference.)

When you said "severely finicky", my 1st thought was the birthday cake, which if it doesn't like where you placed it , it won't let you put candles on it! 😞 🤣

I've played around with them a bit more now and I'm not having troubles anymore. I thought the sectional couch was supposed to move as one piece, but as mentioned in another comment on this thread it doesn't do that but still works as one big couch.

A thing I didn't notice at first  with the modular shelving (and part of why I started this thread) is that some are standing and some are hanging on the wall and they only snap to other standing or hanging pieces respectively. So for example, there's a wall mounted bookshelf and a standing bookshelf. The standing bookcase won't snap to any other hanging pieces like the cabinets and cubbies, but the hanging one will. Maybe that's the issue you're having too @Psychotps when you say they're finicky. Once I figured that out I haven't had any issues with things not snapping together.

What I mean is the... snapping distance is severely small. It's hard to describe. The modular shelving works fine. The sofas I have to move them together in extremely fine movements in order to get them to "snap". Most of the time they just move through each other. I have to fiddle with it in very fine and precise movements before they will "snap" together.

@Psychotps , Oh, you only meant the sofas.  While I didn't have any problems with them, I can see how they would be different from the shelving.

Do you have MOO on? That is the only reason I can see that you might see it as a bit fidgety. The solution is simple turn that off.

@MayaMoon1397  The dressers/small tables and floor and wall cabinets if placed on the same level have the first placed item as a 'parent', and by moving that one, the whole configuration can be moved. The item that lights up when hovering over them is the parent.
