More problems in Srangerville

So, I've played Strangerville many times, with many different Sims . But, recently I've been having issues with it. The hardest being that I can't get a spore scanner from anyone. No one has one. No one mentions it. Not even when I play it while I'm playing in the military branch of careers do i get one. I've even turned off all my mods, and nothing different has changed.

Any ideas put there?

If nothing else works you can always get one in debug-mode.
(ctrl + shift + c, type 'testingcheats true' hit enter, then 'bb.showhiddenobjects' and hit enter. Then do a catalogue search for 'scanner' and it should show up. I always do this as trying to get one through interactions is quite buggy and a hit or miss, mostly miss.)

@ShannaR92 I usually build a high friendship with the military personnel. Sometimes a romantic relationship can get them to help you out more. If you still can't get a scanner, I wonder if it's a consequence of the new conversation changes. Some conversational requirements for careers/tasks have gone missing from the chat options. If so it may be a bug
I just completed the Strangerville mystery a few weeks ago, before the chat options were restructured into new categories and it was fine. If you have enough reward points, you could buy your Sim the Friendly Introduction reward trait for 2000 and see if that helps.
