I have had it happen with a plate after the sim had eaten he just kept holding the plate. Gardening, eating and using spray to kill the bugs, what fun. LOL I went to neighborhood and back in and it fixed the problem. I have even noticed on youtube people doing lets plays have had similar problems and going to the neighborhood and back in seems to be the cure most often. What a pain, game interruptus!
To me this is a Horse Pack related glitch or "shenanigans" related to it.
I really hate it when they put the plate in their inventory too and it gets all stinky. Uck!
