My child sims will not eat

My child sims are not interacting with anything. They can pick up their homework and complete it but will not open the book or write like the normal animation. When they grab food out of the fridge they sit and the table and swing their legs. They will not eat the food whatsoever and it’s a little tiring to keep cheating their needs. Please help!
