The first thing I normally do when something like this happens is to Exit without saving, no matter how much progress I might lose. I hope you also did that. It's still a good idea to report the bug, but it's much faster and easier to get back to playing your game if you don't actually have to fix the problem first. Remember, nothing actually happened until it gets saved.
If you did save after the bug happened, you can try restoring an older save from the Load Game menu. That will usually let you return to a point before the bug occurred if you haven't made too many saves since then.
