my sims wont eat

I have the desert deluxe kit, holiday celebration pack, cats and dogs, city living, get to work, seasons, realm of magic, blooming rooms, bust the dust, laundry day stuff, decor to the max, dream home decorator, spa day, cottage living, discover university, eco livestyle, parenthood, home chef hustle, snowy escape, tiny living, for rent, romantic garden stuff, backyard stuff, vampires, werewolves, growing together, high shcool years,
Steps: How can we find the bug ourselves? 1) Have your sim take ingrediants to cook out from the fridge eg) garden salad. 2) Have your sim finish prepairing them (If your sim will). 3) ask your sim to eat their meal.
What happens when the bug occurs? The sim action of eating will appear in the sims action bar however the action quickly disapears and the sim will take the reset object stance. They will not pick up nor eat their portion of the meal.
What do you expect to see? I expect to see my sims pick up their portion and eat their meal to fill their hunger bar.
Have you installed any customization with the game, e.g. Custom Content or Mods? Not now. I've removed them.
Did this issue appear after a specific patch or change you made to your system? Neutral/Not Sure

My sims refuse to use their appliances (such as cookers) if the meal requires they use them although they can make garden salads. 

Once a garden salad is made, I tell them to take a portion and eat it and the action appears in their action bar. However, they do not interact with the meal. Instead they take the reset object stance. None of my sims in various life stages can eat their food. (They can eat quick meals but they constantly become uncomfortable.)

I regularly play with custom content and have tried my best to figure out if custom content was the issue. I downloaded an application to automatically sive through the CC and I have spent hours manually going through all my custom content and testing to see if the issue still occurs. I cant find any issues with my CC. I have tested the game without CC and the issue still occurs.

I moved my sims into an empty lot then moved them back into their apartment, I have verified the integrity of my game files, I deleted and replaced my sims appliances and I have deleted the game altoegther and redownloaded it. Nothing I've tried has worked.

This issue is making the game unplayable for me.
