This is still happening. I purchased it today and got really excited about my sims having a wedding and even though I made sure sims were asked for the roles and selected them for the event they never showed up. Best Sims were greyed out and it said none were selected... the exchanging vows isn't working and even the event actions are not showing to get any rewards.
