Help! My sims game is no longer functional!

I’ve been playing the sims for four years, and all of the sudden my gallery won’t load, I can’t make any new sims or have new households, and it is randomly freezing and crashing. I can still play old saves, but I can’t make any new ones at all. I don’t know what the issue could possibly be. I’ve tried to clear the local thumbcache package multiple times, and repair the game, but the issue keeps persisting. I don’t use mods at all either, so I don’t think it could be any issue there. If it is helpful information, I play on a windows Lenovo computer, and only open the sims through the EA app.
It’s making it impossible for me to do anything! Is anyone else having this bug? Please help!

    what happens when you try to make a new Sims the game crashes ? 

    What security software are you using ? Windows defender ?

    I use the default windows defender. When I go into CAS to make a new sim, I can still use all the features, but when I go to play the household, it gets stuck on the "saving to library" window, and usually crashes soon after. I can't figure out why it's doing that, but the gallery and library also aren't loading or working either.
