New Holiday Ideas?
Hi All! Must this be serious questions only, or can we just chat? I've been enjoying the 'Seasons' expansion immensely, and was wondering if it's ok to start a new thread to share....... You guesse...
@Felkyneye, I like those ideas! Your first one is similar to Arbor Day, or especially Earth Day! 😎 As for the Midsummer watersports and BBQ festivities, this is a lot like the "4th of July" or "Independence Day" in the United States! 🥳 We just add fireworks, apple pie, watermelon, and lots of red, white, & blue decorations (especially flags and stars). 😉 But throwing something on the grill is usually included! ❤️ We often also have potato salad, coleslaw, & baked beans, but this varies a bit depending on where in the U.S. you live. (People who live on the coast are more likely to grill fish than people who live in the Mid-west! 😉 ) And of course there are different dishes that are tradition with each different family (My mom is Italian American, so we always have assorted olives at every holiday! ❤️ But this is not normal for most of the U.S.! :eahigh_file: )
I've noticed that some minor holidays don't always show up on my Sims' calendars every year. Sometimes there is a lottery day, a rebate day, or a Neighborhood Brawl day 😮 -- but they aren't always scheduled for each year! 🤔 The first time I played with Seasons, I made a 4th of July -like holiday and called it "Kaboom Day". This of course involved grilling food, water activities, and fireworks (thanks to the fireworks you can get at the festivals in the City Living EP :eahigh_file: ) ! I love that you can add your own holidays to the calendar! ❤️:🥳
