Non-vampire parents had a vampire baby

One of my households has a spellcaster dad and a human mom. They have 3 daughters together. Two of them are spellcasters, and one is a vampire. I didn't think the game allowed traits to be passed down. However, even if it did, I'm not sure how she would've inherited vampiric genes. The only thing I can recall is that the girls' grandmother was a human who became a vampire after being turned by her husband. Sometime after the divorce, she cured her vampirism and married a spellcaster. But I can't remember if she cured it before or after having children with her new husband. 

So, my question is, can an occult trait be passed down from a grandparent?

    If they had the baby after she was cured, I don't think the trait should still be present.

    Do you still have the grandmother in your game or did she pass ? Could you maybe upload the parents to the gallery and post the name here ? Would be interesting to see if either of them have any hidden vampire traits.

    I don't know about inheriting through grandparents, but there is lot trait called "on a dark ley line" or something like that. It means babies conceived on that lot have a chance of being vampires even without vampire parents. So if you haven't already check your lot traits, that night be one of them ☺️

    Hi, I found out the daughters have a vampire uncle. I wasn't able to see that before the latest family tree update. While that should mean they have a vampire grandfather, the sim isn't listed as a relative at all. That's interesting too.

    Hi, the lot doesn't have the dark ley line trait. I found out the daughters have a vampire uncle, thanks to the family tree update. What's strange is that his father isn't listed as their grandfather, even though (I think) he should be.
