NPC set-up/blind date phone calls not working

So I don't know the proper name for this event, but twice recently, my sims have gotten phone calls from NPCs along the lines of "Hi, I'm [Name], I want to set you up with my friend, do you want to meet them right now?" with a location for the date. (Not the "can I give them your number" NPC call.) I clicked "ok" both times, and both times nothing happened; my sims didn't travel anywhere and no one showed up. These are the only two times any of my sims have gotten that phone call, so I don't know what to expect from it normally. What might be causing it to not go through?

Is this a known bug or a potential mod conflict? The mods I have are MCCC (only base + MC cheats), Neighborhood Stories Expanded (KaylaDot), and Fitness Controls (roBurky).
