Ovens Always Start Fires
I'm so sick of spending hours in the editors and then jumping in game and the first thing Sims do is burn down their house. FIX IT. The game is unplayable right now since you basically can't own a kitchen anymore.

@DarkestPenguin There's an open bug thread here that might be appropriate for your problem, on Page 1 there's a list of other similar bug reports too that might also apply to you.
It can also happen just because the skill is too low if they are new Sims so I always get them to raise the cooking skill with Fruit Salad and Garden Salad first and some Cooking Channel too before using equipment but if it's still happening with frequency then that could be a bug.

Do you have the Cursed Lot trait, by any chance?@DarkestPenguin Hi! I clicked "me too" because, almost every time I start a new save / new household, there is a fire when my sim cooks anything with the stove / oven. It's really annoying! I also just clicked "me too" on the thread that @simsplayer818 shared and I'm hoping that the team can investigate possibly toning this down. Meanwhile, and in addition to the suggestions that simsplayer shared, I also suggest having your sims travel to the Willow Creek Archive Library and having them read the Cooking Skill book for a no-cost way to increase their skill. I'm also saving my game before cooking just incase. Plus I keep a backup save. My Sims just had their first waffle machine fire, despite her having a high cooking skill and watching the waffles carefully. They'd only just started cooking when it went up in flames. Sometimes it's skill, sometimes it's a bug and sometimes it's just random and makes no sense 🧑🍳.
