A few things you could try:
- Enable testing cheats then right-click the sim and reset them.
- Save the sim to your library then re-place them into the game and see if it severs the glitch. However, if you try this do it in a duplicate save to test (create a new duplicate save by choosing 'save as' from the old one). If it works for removing the glitch in that test save you could do it in your original save also, but realize that saving the sim to the library severs all relationships outside the ones saved with them in the library household, and you may need to cheat back their money.
- If it's not a glitch, it could be a caused by Mods/CC, if you have or had any. If that is the case you could test in a new save, without opening any other saves, as follows:
Move your Mods folder from your "The Sims 4" folder [Documents > Electronic Arts > The Sims 4] to your desktop (save it for reference) and delete the localthumbcache.package file in your “The Sims 4” folder. Then check in a new game save to see if this issue is still occurring. You can test without saving.
