[PH] Sims Cannot Parent Adopted Grandchildren Unless They Live Together
If a Sim adopts another Sim who already has children, the active Sim cannot parent their "new" grandchildren unless they live on the same lot.
I conducted an experiment:
- Created a family consisting of an elder, an adult, and a child (all biological relatives). When the grandmother moved out, she could still parent her grandchild when they were on the same lot (even though they don't live together).
- Created a family consisting of an elder, an adult, and a child. The adult and child are biological father and son, while the elder is not their blood relative. While they lived on the same lot and had no family ties, the elder could parent the child. After the elder adopted the adult, the ability to parent the child remained. But when the elder moved to a different lot, any ability to parent the child disappeared. That is, the adoptive grandmother cannot parent or give guidance to her adopted grandchild, which I believe is a bug. At the same time, if the elder moves back in with the adoptive family, she can parent again.
Let me remind you that there is no such problem for the grandmother and grandson from the first example, since they are blood relatives.
UPD: The ability to parent the adopted grandchild appeared only after a family dynamic formed between the grandmother and the granddaughter in my main save. Perhaps only after that did the game start recognizing the Sims as relatives. At the same time, this function still hasn't appeared with the other adopted grandchildren (possibly because the family dynamic hasn't formed yet).
