@EJAFamThe auto-counters turning off when you open the menu for manual counters is as intended, I think. Because if you are choosing a specific counter type, you'd want it to stay the one that you chose rather than changing.

When auto-counters are on, you need to place a counter on either side of the corner, and then when you place one between them it will automatically become a corner piece. It won't automatically become a corner piece just because you're at a corner, because you could be intending the counter to simply end at the wall.
