Re: Sims freezing to death

@iQuinxyZz

Ok, the reason the rest of the household might be freezing to death is because of the ghost that died by freezing.  Ghosts will sort of radiate with whatever killed them.  Drowning victims will leave water puddles everywhere they go for instance.  So, I suspect that the ghost is radiating cold to everything around them, so the other sims can get cold enough to freeze too.  That is separate from the weather effects so turning the effects off doesn't help stop the other sims from freezing.

If you haven't already got one, install a thermostat in the house.  You only need one anywhere inside the house.  Set the thermostat to warmer.  Although, if it is warm outside, then you run the risk of overheating the other sims and causing them to die by overheating.

The best way to stop the problem though, is to resurrect the ghost via one of the in-game methods.  Base game gives Ambrosia, RoM has the Dedeathify spell, Romantic Garden has the wishing well. Dedeathify is probably the easiest and cheapest if you have a spellcaster that's learned the spell.  The wishing well will cost you $5000 per attempt and might take a few tries and Ambrosia requires a death flower, angel fish and a Potion of Youth which costs 1500 reward points.  It can be tough and take a while if your household doesn't have money or a sim with a lot of reward points.

The other alternative is to send the ghost to the Netherlands via the option on the urn or tombstone.  But then the sim will be gone permanently, and you won't be able to get them back.

You could also try giving the living sims the reward traits, so they aren't affected by the cold.  One costs 500 reward points and the stronger one costs 2000 reward points.

Hope this helps.
