Recycling bottles, cans, cardboard etc? (Eco lifestyle)

I have only recently started paying attention to Eco lifestyle pack and tried recycling. My sim makes a lot of fizzy drinks and sells them, that results in a lot of empty bottles, cans, jars and carboard boxes. To recycle them sim needs to have items in heir inventory but they can't seem to put them into the inventory, neither I can. The only way to recycle seems to be putting these into the household inventory in the build mode, then recycling. It seems like way too tedious. Am I missing something? Is there some kind of container these could be stored and recycled out of? Surely fizzing station came with the pack so this should have been though of as a perfect recycling material and the pack has been out for a few years now. I can't seem to find any info about this, any advice would be appreciated. 🍃
