rental visitors being weird

I'm playing Sims 4 on PC with Origin, and I sent a family on vacation to a rental lot in Mt. Komorebi for 3 days.  At the end of the second day around 11 pm, a bajilion random sims showed up and just... waltzed on in?  No knocking, no social event, nothing.  I could ask them to leave but only after one of my sims introduced themself, and more just kept showing up.  At least 10 different sims nobody in the household knew.

I did try disallowing solicitors and neighbors but they just kept coming in.

Anybody else have this happen?
