@gooochyeee I have a question... how would an elder pack looking? Many elders still do the same as they were young. Playing video games, go hiking, go bicycling, travel or just go out and talk with other people, sure not so fast as they were young but still fast enough for this stage of life. I really don’t understand why people want to put elder always in a box.
Generally, I think a focus of infant and children is much more needed as more to do for elders. Children don’t have much to do, self with parenthood the gameplay is little. An elder is still a sim, and can almost do everything, and I really think we should get rid of these thinking that elders = fragile.
I am sure many players want more child-to-child activities as play tag together or the treehouse back. This game missing so much feature for children and I can understand that family player gets frustrated with this. I would say sims 4 children have the mermaid occult status (yes, this is a very bad status)
@gooochyeee , I would also tend to believe that except for the fact that at the Twitch event a few months ago (the one where they showed off the crawling baby, and the child riding a bike, they also showed us a set of dentures in a glass of water! That is definitely Elder territory! 😉
Edit: apparently my guess (as well as that of several other people) was wrong, because the dentures in the glass of water is part of the Bathroom Clutter Kit that was released today (January 19)!!! 🤭😅
@daikoyu I don't want to necessarily put elders in a box, but there isn't that much of unique elder things to do in the game. If you have the Nifty Knitting SP then they can sit in the rocker and reminisce (though to be honest, I even did that as a teenager! 😅 ) But while elders in the game can do many of the things that teens and adults do, they have a big problem with exercising ! 😰 Mine always get buffs that are warnings that the exercise is to strenuous (even if I have them do it just for a short time), and I've even have had elders die from exercising in my game!😞 Which makes sense for some elders, but not others! My parents are elders and my dad is more like the elders in the game and is in fact fragile -- however my mother is very active and is more like an adult aged Sim in the game,! So the activity level of real elders can vary greatly! But usually different life-stages in the game bring unique gameplay, as they have in The Sims 2 and the Sims 3 (there weren't functionally any elders in the Sims 1, just Sims that looked like elders).
But I do agree that toddlers and children need more things to do in the game, especially children!
- gooochyeee3 years agoSeasoned Ace@PugLove888 Then again it could just be a decoration item. But Infant-Child (including toddlers) Gameplay is seriously needed. Especially children. Child Bikes as seen in the sim summit and possibly even trikes for infants/toddlers . I'd also like to see a floor drawing. Xylophone (sorry if incorrectly spelt). Rocking horses, tree houses. Slides for children. And more

I'd be happy to see more interactive toys for kids. Despite owning all the additional packs for kids I still feel like they all end up with the same limited selection. The base game toys were really odd and annoying, I mean what is the point of that little pram? I often blow it up and place it in a nursery and do the same with the little red car so it's like they have one to peddle about in... even though they can't. The model toy cars get blown up and placed on drives in the absence of real cars.
As for the outdoor toddler activity things, you need a mansion to fit them in as they take up half the lawn. I have one Sim family that has the space for the biggest one with tunnels. I added them to a park and toddlers turned up unaccompanied it really freaked me out and my played Sim rounded them up one by one and took them home! So that idea was immediately scrapped.
So I'm happy to see it looks like we might be getting something more realistic in terms of activities and/or items possibly.
I added kids shops selling the collectable toys and knitted llamas, turtles, etc. There's kids art, collectable posters, snowglobes and the cracker toys too, just so that kids could have a few more things in their rooms.
There's wierd looking dolls that appear in their inventories when they get home from school which seems to be linked to the kleptomaniac trait. I think that could be expanded upon because it's extremely rare. One little girl named Thalia got a few of them in my last game but nobody else got any. I couldn't interact with them so they just sat in her room. But I like that idea of locked or hidden toys that just appear in the inventory depending on the traits/activities.
I don't have many elders as there seems to be a fair few elder townies already. But mine are often parents and grandparents that I add as peripheral characters/family that I keep in Other Households. They are usually pretty active though. I don't have deaths in my game and I wanted them to be youthful seniors.

@simsplayer818 , when you talk about kids' toys and you mention the pram (stroller for people in the U.S.) , do you mean the fancy purple one? If that is the same one you mean, that isn't supposed to be a pram, but instead it is supposed to be an old-fashioned carriage, but it does look out of context without horses in front of it! 😅 I never thought of it as a pram, but I can now clearly see how you (and I'm sure other people) have thought that! 😀
Interesting thing about the Kleptomaniac trait in children, is that that is how I learned of the hidden items in the game (the ones that aren't locked by achievements)! A lot of the dolls that end up in their inventory were swiped from dollhouses! 😅
Normally I don't like the idea of children stealing things, but in the case of this trait, it does give some much needed personality to some of my child Sims! 🤨

@gooochyeee , you were so right about the dentures in the glass of water being a decoration , because the Bathroom Clutter Kit was released today and the dentures showed up in that kit! 😅
I love your ideas for more things for kids and toddlers to do! 🥳 And yes, you did spell xylophone correctly! 😄
