Should I buy Bust the Dust?

Hi,

I would like to hear your opinions on whether I (any player) should purchase the Bust the Dust kit.

I love the idea of keeping my house clean, I'm a family player in the sims and I enjoy all the household chores that come with it.

But what I've heard of Bust the Dust makes me a bit scared.

Is it still as buggy as when it first came out?

How fast does dust accumulate?

Can you turn bust the dust off in the menu settings?

What problems do you experience on off the grid lots? (I know there is no broom or dust and pan set).

Curious for your replies!

  • @Heddelviven In my opinion, don't buy. It came with nothing else but four different vacuums and a heap of bugs and disappointment.
I have disabled to whole pack in the Options settings. That way I at least can use the vacuums as decorative objects.

They fixed it almost all the bugs + annoying features. Sims will still sniffing but the idle got a cooldown before it plays again. So, it’s much better now.

The only issue I still get sometime is this: https://answers.ea.com/t5/Bug-Reports/OPEN-BDK-Showing-Clean-and-Dusty-moodlets-Simultaneously/td-p/11795085

It’s only the moodlet dust will still occur normal and after it gets light dusty the double moodlet gets away. It personally doesn’t bother me.

Off the Grid doesn’t work because of this bug: https://answers.ea.com/t5/Bug-Reports/OPEN-BDK-Vacuums-Don-t-Work-Off-The-Grid/td-p/10143621

I upgraded it and still couldn’t vacuuming, so you need Eco Living and a source of power generator. (I checked it in my vanilla game and is still bugged)

Dust occurs normal for me. If you have more sims dust will occurs faster as example a family from 5 with 2 pets got dust each 2-3 days. I personally don’t had any issue with vacuuming but I play in houses which are for gameplay and don’t use MOO(MoveObject). Light use of MOO should not cause any issue. So more MOO you use so likely you get routing issue for vacuuming. If you have a Maid or a Butler, they should vacuum automatic. // Robot vacuum from Cats & Dogs works too for cleaning.

All in one I think its now in a state which its worth the money, specially if you on PC you got a ton of mods which you can tweak feature (Example: No Dust-Bunny, no moodlet, no Idle, no clean sparkling, working broom for of the grid and more)

Note: I do not own this pack.

Generally, I think it depends partly on how you feel about repetitive household chores in the game. If you love laundry, the filthy lot challenge, and the Simple Living lot challenge, you might like it! I only like the Simple Living lot challenge on that list myself, so... that's why I don't own it. But that's entirely a matter of personal taste, and some people adore that kind of thing, so... it really depends on you.
