I'm honestly surprised that people don't like the faster eating.
Okay, family meals with full autonomy are.... impossible. Literally, grand meals at holidays I have one Sim cook (I'm going to change that to the whole family cooking now that this exists!) and micromanage all the other Sims rushing to the fridge to get Quick Meals while the chef cooks a Harvestfest Turkey. ("No! Go play video games! Dinner isn't ready!" "NO! your sister is cooking, go... go... go run on the treadmill." "Oh for crying out loud, your daughter is cooking, will you just... Go up four flights of stairs and then read a book, thanks.") I can see how if you actually manage family meals you might like the slower pace, but...
...but for a single Sim raiding the fridge for leftovers before work, it's like.... you have TWENTY MINUTES can you just EAT IT don't just take a single bite and then stare into space for ten minutes! EAT IT EAT IT OMG EAT IT!!! okay you're late to work now just go. For crying out loud!
I particularly hated the "scrape the fork across the plate in slow motion... exclaim about what a wonderful cook you are! stare into space for ten minutes... scrape the fork across the plate in slow motion... exclaim about what a wonderful cook you are again!" thing, ARGH! No "Pan a dyola!" No "Moh le bye!" Just EAT IT. EAT IT EAT IT EAT IT EAT IT EAT IT EAT IT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
But again, if your Sims are actually capable of family meals despite their goldfish with ADHD attention span... you might have liked the pace.
I don't know if they can do different eating paces based on context (family meals vs. single sim eating). I honestly don't know how much coding would be involved in that.
