SIM not able to increase write skill or read books! Issue for increase skills

My sim is supposed to be able to have the option to read a book but none of the book shelves even at the library or the ones I bought for her own house have the option for her to read. Also her comp...

@xalexh77 Is this an issue for your Sims in other households? Is the issue present if you begin a new game save and move her into a home there? When did the issue just begin or has it always been there? Do you use Mods/CC?

If the issue is there for other Sims and in a new game save you can try:

A game repair:

How to run a game repair:

• Open Origin, click ‘Game Library’ then right-click Sims 4 > Repair Game

• If you’re on PC, make sure to let it run until it has completed all repairs (it will do the base game first, then run through each of your DLCs (Expansion Packs, Game Packs and Stuff Packs).

Test without Mods/CC and by removing the cache file:

CC &/or Mods that in the game, and sometimes that have been removed but have left cache in the game, can affect your game in ways that may or may not make sense. Please do the following exactly as stated, even if you did any of it before:

Please move your Mods folder from your "The Sims 4" folder [Documents > Electronic Arts > The Sims 4] to your desktop (save it for reference) and delete the localthumbcache.package file in your “The Sims 4” folder. Then check in a new game save to see if this issue is still occurring. If the issue is gone, please re-add the Mods/CC one at a time until you find the one causing the issue. If you have a lot of Mods/CC you can try the 50/50 Method.
