Sim Won’t Clean Dishes

Hi!

I’m having issues cleaning up the dishes in my game. My sim won’t do it herself. I’ve checked for the oven/microwave glitch, but I only have an oven and nothing is it in.

I also can’t drag the dishes into the sink because the food was made by my sims roommate.

My household is one female young adult sim, with a male toddler, if that matters.

Looking for suggestions.

Thanks!

Update: I've found a way to fix the issue. Since I was unable to get rid of the dishes directly, I placed them on a counter, and then deleted the counter they were on. It deleted the dishes along with it. Then I just replaced the counter.

Lost a few simoleons in the process, but I got it fixed 🙂

  • @OswinLightwood  I'm not sure exactly what is the problem.  Is it dirty dishes or food platters?  From what you said, it sounds like food though.  And I also infer that you can't direct your active sim to do anything thing with them.  So assuming that, have you tried dragging the dishes to a refrigerator?  Or have you tried dragging it to a regular trashcan or the incinerator trashcan.  And have you tried dragging it into your active sim's inventory?

From my own experience with roommates, if the food spoils, then it can be cleaned up in the sink or trashcan.  So have you had that happen?

If it is dirty dishes, you should be able to have your sim clean them up.  A last resort is to delete them in build mode, something you can't usually do with food that is still good.

  • It's dirty dishes, most of them are empty. And it's not just the sink that I can't drag them too, I simply cannot drag/pick up the plates at all. When I direct my sim to clean them up, she picks one up, then puts it back down.

The dishes are spoiled, but I still can't drag them or delete them in build mode.
