Sims 2 Castaway Remake Pc for Sims 4 add on island living and outdoor retreat!
Sul Sul!
I’ve had another idea but it’s basically a remake of Sims 2 castaway from the ps2.
I would love (and I can imagine others would too if they had the joys of playing sims 2 castaway) the feature of natural hair growth in the new remake of it maybe for the pc and consoles too!
It could maybe be an add on to the expansion pack of island living with aspects of outdoor retreat in there too so merging two packs together like a married couple on their wedding day!
Like maybe travel to a mysterious island in the distance that has a volcano and you choose either plane or boat to travel and then a storm hits landing you somewhere else on this mysterious island, somewhere you’ve never seen before.
Seeing the volcano in the distance on the island and it being the only landmark you know you decide to travel there by foot as you have some minor to major injuries which then your sim could find (depending on the traits they have) either different herbs and plants to treat your wounds naturally by the power of nature or by finding that first aid kit that your mum made you swear to always being with you (in mums words “you never know what will happen” I wish I knew the simlish translation because I would have put it there I even looked it up for help but found every other words but the ones I looked for haha but anyway)
Once you’ve done either the power of nature or finding that half buried first aid kit and you’ve somewhat healed (although your Sims head is pounding from a headache) they move forth towards that distant volcano hoping to find a way to finding out more about the place where “no one ever walks/goes” (whatever word sounds better I couldn’t decide) you go through various quests, if I go through them all we could be here a while but if you want an idea of some of them I would want to see then here’s a little teaser just for you!
One of them is simple at first build a fire keep warm, great! Right? Well it was when you got the fire started and felt the tickle of the heat towards your sim until by it starting raining which in turn puts out the fire, this puts your sim into a dilemma. Do they:
- Find a tree to shelter under and hope for the best
- Find materials to make a makeshift house to ensure more wind and rain coverage to keep the warmth surrounding them
- Do nothing at all and hope for the best
When you’ve chosen your quest and depending on your sims luck with the third one it has two different turn outs, one where they could die from hyperthermia or they could get a little island friend help them out once they are discovered by them (I wouldn’t want to ruin the surprise of what or who the friend is)
After you’ve chosen your option and the rain has subsided your sims stomach grows angrier through the no food treatment you have given to it involuntarily.
Your Sim now needs to buck up the courage and forage for the food supplements your Sims body desperately needs! (This is where Outdoor retreat pack comes in handy because they will face creepy crawlies or interesting insects depending on the traits your Sim has! And definitely the knowledge of berries would be good because you don’t want to eat the ones that will give your Sim adverse side effects)
As they forage the surrounding areas being careful not to get lost and making sure they know their way back to the area of where they have their make shift fire pit and if you chose the option of the makeshift home, their makeshift home there too!
You can either accidentally poison your Sim which can be either fatal or bad for your bowels! So you best run and find an unoccupied bush (if there is one) and let loose! Or wing it and hope some subconscious knowledge from that class your Sim fell asleep in school called “wilderness survival” which seems ironic now that your stranded in the wilderness and need to survive which your sim thought “when would I be stranded in the wilderness? Come on teach me something I will need to know!” Well now you’ve learnt a powerful lesson here haven’t we?
Digressing put aside once all food sources are collected they make their way back with your direction from pop ups asking what way was the way back, you hopefully if you chose the right options found your way back to your “home spot” for now because you will have many home spots along your powerful journey (I will get to why it’s going to be a powerful journey and not just a journey in a bit, if I don’t just nudge me and remind me because i love to go off topic with other ideas that pop in!)
Your sim seeing a beautiful clearing of hot heat and blue skies with some lovely clouds that look edible overhead, your sim lights the fire and gets cooking with makeshift forks from twigs and a leaf plate to hold the food so your sim doesn’t burn their hands, it is go time in making that bed you always wanted to make! (Why buy your bed when you can make it! Talk about a money saver! I’m game!!! Tell me where I sign up for that class!)
Your sim now needs to make their bed! And no there won’t be the option for your Sim to buy one in buy/build mode because they’re in the wilderness remember! So don’t go looking over there for it because it won’t be there! There’s no buy/build mode in the wilderness survival! There can be some real facts throughout the game so it’s also educational as well as fun! Fun learning is always the way in my eyes!
I have looked up how to make a bed out of wilderness survival methods and I have found written and a video showing how to do it so I will post both the video and the written text to cater for the different readers I have.
First here’s the link:
Explaining this link a little bit, with this method depending on whether your sim foraged materials from the plane / boat wreck (if you thought ahead that is 😉) you will be able to make this above bed method but if your sim doesn’t have that bed material they salvaged well then here’s another video bed method
This link is of a bed made out of wood materials which then your sim can layer on some leaves or moss to make that layer of padding your sims back will definitely appreciate!
Now some written bed instructions:
I have copied and pasted the following this is not my work but of others’ so I have included the link as the where’s I have found this

A-frame bed
To make this kind of bed, start by looking for two trees that are fairly close together. A couple of trees about 6 feet apart will suffice. Next, you’ll need 4 thick wooden poles about 8 inches thick, with lengths long enough to just bridge the gap between the two trees to make your A-frame bed.
To make the bed, follow these steps:
Step 1. Against one tree, on the side facing the other tree, place two of the poles so they cross each other about a foot from the top to form the outline of an upper case “A”. Lash them together, and to the tree, where they cross. Repeat this process on the second tree, making sure the poles cross at the same angle and stand parallel to the poles on the first tree. Tie them securely with cordage or nail them down if you have nails.

Start on your A-frame bed by tying crossed poles to a tree. Repeat on another tree parallel to it (BuzzardBushCraft.co.uk/2013/04/a-frame-shelter-raised-bed.html).

Once both A-frames are set up, secure two poles at their bases about 2 feet off the ground.
(BuzzardBushCraft.co.uk).
Step 4. Cover the “bed” with soft boughs and grass for your “mattress”.

A tarp or sturdy plastic sheet can be added to the frame to protect against the elements (BuzzardBushCraft.co.uk).
Ladder bed
If you need a bed without having to lash the frame to two parallel trees, you can make a ladder bed. The construction is a lot like making an A-frame bed, with a few differences.
To make a ladder bed, follow these steps:
Step 1. Make A-frame supports with poles, without lashing them to trees. Stake them to soft ground instead.
Step 2. Secure the cross piece poles to the A-frame supports about 2 feet off the ground.
Step 3. Attach two long poles of equal length to the cross piece poles.
Step 4. Lay and secure several poles (at least 2 inches thick) perpendicular to and along the length of the 2 poles, such that it looks like a ladder.
Step 5. Make a “mattress” of boughs, grass, ferns or leaves.

How the frame of a ladder bed should look. All that remains is placing boughs, ferns or leaves to make the “mattress” (BuzzardBushCraft.co.uk).
Bough bed
The Bough bed, depending on the availability of materials, is probably the fastest and easiest “survival bed” to make.
To make one, follow these steps:
Step 1. Gather or chop down two logs, 5 feet in length and 6-8 inches thick.
Step 2. Get another two logs, 7 feet in length and 6-8 inches thick.
Step 3. Lay the two 7-foot logs on the ground, parallel to each other.
Step 4. Tie, nail or make notches to attach the shorter logs across the ends of the longer logs; this will comprise the “bed frame”. Depending on your preference or needs, you may decide to build the frame higher with more logs.
Step 5. Gather enough boughs to fill the “frame” and keep your body off the ground. Choose boughs from trees that have soft needles like white pine, balsam or spruce.

A simple bough bed can provide sufficient insulation and bedding. You may have to gather a lot of boughs as your weight will compress the “mattress” (BuzzardBushCraft.co.uk).
To build your simple hammock, follow these steps:
Step 3. Wrap a length of rope around the first tree several times for a secure anchor.
Step 4. Repeat the above steps with the other end of the hammock.

A hammock should hold your weight, keep you dry, and, above all, give you a good night’s sleep (HammockForums.net)
These are some examples of the beds I mean, once you have slept and completed quests you will then get to a part of the game where you meet a unknown and untold groups of Sims where their non contact of the outside island approach has faired them well, with them seeing you they are hostile and go for attacking methods.
Once you show you are of no threat they suspiciously let you see the head of the group, the head of the group sets tasks for you to see through to prove your trust and respect towards their people.
Once completing these missions / quests you return to them learn about their people from which they take your Sim up to that volcano you have been approaching. Your sims goes through ancient cleansing rituals and learning different natural and cleansing health remedies and drinks that your Sim can now make when they go back to their home (not their makeshift one) which they can then teach others!
Your Sim can also get taught how to make clothes, accessories, shoes and hair cutting tools to freshen up their look not only that but learn different hairstyles, not forgetting you will still have your friend you met earlier I the game with you throughout, the friend then joins the group of people that you have eating the respect of and your Sim realises that they helped lead you there as the group always are on the lookout for stranded souls!
With after the report of your friend they offer you a place to stay forever for your Sim and their family with of course respectful restrictions being that the people they bring to stay have to go through the same thing your Sim had to go through, now being you’ve unlocked a fair bit of skills along your powerful journey you will then be able to buy the beds and shelters your son has created through buy/build more or you can have the fun to build them all over again, the choice is yours!
Lastly the reason for it being a powerful journey is because it will truly push your Sims spirit and will power to survive, it will also test every knowledge that you have chosen for your sim throughout their life! So choose carefully or suffer the consequences! It will awaken their spiritual side with different rituals that they can learn and then teach others the ancient ways!
I can imagine the slogan now;
”Can your Sims brave the mysterious wilderness or become another victim of it?” There will be the option for your sim to go along with others but I only explained it as one sim because I felt it was necessary to concentrate solely on the elements taking place, although if you have travelled with more than one sim you will have to track them down too along your journey!
Thats been my ideas on a castaway expansion pack that goes compliments the outdoor retreat pack and the island living pack in one! Which if I’m honest will be a wonderful thing to see!
If your sim is a mermaid there will will be different living conditions of course for your sim, they can just sleep in the body of water as an option to making a bed or they can just make a bed which ever they prefer!
If if there is any spelling mistakes I do apologise as I do read over it but I can’t catch everything! (Although I wish I could!)
Dag Dag!
