Sims 4 freezes on loading page after sims age up/birth birth

I play sims4 on my Mac book Pro and for some reason every time my sims age up or give birth - and i try to save the game - it gets stuck on the loading... screen and the only way for me to exit the sims is to completely shut don my laptop. And when i go back onto sims it doesn't save any of my game play which is super annoying. please help (i do have mccc installed)

    @passdapasta Please move your mods folder to the desktop, delete Documents > Electronic Arts > The Sims 4 > localthumbcache and then try again on a backup of your save,

    I have the same problem on a MacBook. But I had no mods installed

    @EnzoRios When they give birth or age up, a pop-up should appear to enter name/pick traits.

    Does it happen to all ages for you, even when you don't have to pick anymore ?

    What kind of loading screen are you stuck on ?

     @crinrict So far is happening are age up from baby to toddler. I’m not sure if some other age could have the same problem. But it happened to me already twice and I los all unsaved progress. Don’t know how to work around this issue

    @EnzoRios Try to always save the game before aging them up. This way you at least don't loose anything.

    Did you test multiple saves/babies or was the two times it happened with the same one ?

    I deleted the cache files and restored the install. One of both should’ve worked because I was now able to grow up the baby. Thanks for your help
