Sims 4 Gallery freezing pc

I've been having trouble with both start-up and in-game gallery’s for the past month, where after scrolling for a few seconds the loading icons freeze. I can’t open task manager to force quit, or open any other apps, as if it froze my entire PC but I can move my cursor around and hear the music playing. I deleted my “the Sims 4” folder in electronic arts and removed my mods folder in an attempt to fix it, and I’m still having the same problem. Its becoming evident at this point that this isn’t an error on my end, and im starting to dread even attempting to play the game. Any and all tips would be greatly appreciated.
