Sims 4 HSY unable to go to prom

Hey so ever since August of this year, I've been unable to send my sims to prom. I've tried every fix, disabling mods, disabling mccc, updating mods, I even checked to make sure that Mei was still an npc and alive and assigned as the principal which she was, I also installed a mod that disabled festivals but not events so only prom showed up on the calendar and there were no other festivals potentially overriding or conflicting with the prom event, turned all the lounges into bars so that the talent showcases no longer conflicted with prom, I tried playing without get famous, I also sent my sims to career day which worked fine but for some reason prom is just bugged. Every fix I googled pointed to things I already tried. I even had to reinstall sims 4 last week due to an another unrelated issue which has been resolved and even on the fresh reinstall of the sims 4, prom was having the same bug as before. I'm at a loss on what to do. Essentially what is happening is that prom still shows up on the calendar and the notifications about prom coming up in the days before still happen, sims can still ask other sims to prom, claim to be prom royalty, etc but on the day of the event even with nothing else happening, my sim won't get the text about the get together before prom or get the travel to auditorium for prom notification. Is anyone having the same problem or is it just me?
