Sims 4 Ideas/Requests

Hi! It would be great if we could have hotels, not just rentals. It would be great if we could build our own apartment buildings! Thank you.

  • I’ve seen people build duplexes and very small apartment buildings and use the roommate system and door locks to fill the other side, but these buildings can be very expensive because you “own” the whole thing.

    I would also like hotels!

@bienbien , yes, I think that would be a very popular element to add to the game! Just like a lot of people enjoy owning and running their own restaurant (Dine Out) retail store (Get to Work) or vet clinic (Cats & Dogs), some players would love to own and run their own hotels! 😀

And people have been wanting to make their own apartments since City Living came out years ago!

I hope they are working on some of these ideas.🤞  I would have to say that I would think the hotel idea would be more likely since we don't have anything like that in the game, and we do already have apartments, even if we can't make our own. But it would be so nice to have both! 🙌

I make my own hotels but obviously they don't function properly as hotels. I've tried a few different lot types like Generic with functional bars inside. Or just having it as a Bar. I create a lot of travelling/explorer Sims and I used them more before I got Outdoor/Jungle Adventure packs and got camping gear. I find that bar staff/musicians usually turn up but if not I just pay the fees to staff it all. DJs have to be hired. I haven't tried adding catering except for bar food and vending machines/fridges.

I personally find that the most frustrating thing is that sleeping doesn't go onto fast forward because it's just a busy building and not a properly working hotel. I add ensuite rooms with mini fridges, a gym, a nightclub room, different bars. Half the fun is in designing them. I use base game items usually because I find that the decor and outside trims actually lend themselves quite well to a UK designed classic looking hotel. I was going to use the Wedding Stories items but my game has been barely playable since adding it unfortunately.

I've edited the hotel space at San Myshuno Park too and made that more like an upscale hotel for weddings but again, it just looks the part. Surprisingly nobody barges into the bedrooms and my Sims get privacy but the night goes at regular speed so I usually give up and put them in a tent outside instead.

It needs a new lot type for us to be able to create a hotel and for the game speed to change when the current Sim goes to sleep. That's tricky I know because visiting Sims slow down sleep too, even if it's a residential lot with people on the doorstep or Paparazzi outside it affects sleep speeds. So once they can figure a way around that and add the vacation lot fees and implement it, we can achieve proper hotels. There may be mods that help with this, I don't know as I'm on console.

@simsplayer818 , you have gotten very creative with the limitations of the game! 🙌🥰 Especially since you are on a console! 🤨👍

And you are so right about the problems with the speed not being quicker when your Sims are sleeping on these kinds of lots! 😓 But if they were to add hotels, I don't know how they would manage that aspect of the game. 🤔  I can't remember how they handled it in Sims 1, Sims2, and Sims3! 😅
