Sims 4 managing add ons

This is my 3rd try to get this question out there. I uninstalled my Sims 4 game so I could reinstall it without certain add-ons. When I went to reinstall I went to manage add-ons and it didn't give me the option to select the ones I didn't want to install. Can someone help me with this?

  • I believe I followed the instructions. It didn't work. I still have all those packs in the game. I even closed out my Sims 4 game and restarted my computer. Was I not supposed to do that? I also started another game just to be sure they would be gone. What did I do wrong? I typed in what I was told and double checked everything to make sure there was no mistake. Just to recap what I did - After I closed out the game I went to the ... symbol in the Library, went to View Properties and entered the following: -disablepacks:EP09,GP09,SP13,GP07,SP04,SP18

After that I pressed Enter and restarted my computer. Do you have any further instructions?

  • You cannot uninstall the addons.

You can disable the packs you don't want to use in the EA App.

    1. Open EA App and head to Library
    2. Click on the … symbol on The Sims 4 and select View Properties
    3. Enter the text in the box labelled Advanced launch options

-disablepacks:[pack numbers separated by comma you don't want to use]

Example, the following string would disable all game packs

    -disablepacks:GP01,GP02,GP03,GP04,GP05,GP06,GP07,GP08,GP09,GP10,GP11,GP12

Google: James Turner Disable The Sims 4 Packs to find a website that makes the creation of the disable packs string easy by selecting the packs you don't want from a menu.

I don't know what packs that would delete. I need to take off Laundry Day Stuff Pack, Journey to Batuu Game Pac, Eco Lifestyle, Strangerville, Spooky Stuff, and Paranormal Stuff Pack. Do you know what number these would be?

@kas19762011 How did you start the game afterwards ? Through Ea app or a shortcut (that sometimes gives issues).

Best is to start the game through Ea app afterwards.

If you did that, please post a screenshot of where you put it.

  • Thank you so much for your help. When I went through the EA app instead of the short cut icon that seemed to do the trick. Thank you again!
