Sims always autonomously doing homework right next to sleeping sims

Product: The Sims 4
Platform:PC
Which language are you playing the game in? Deutsch
How often does the bug occur? Every time (100%)
What is your current game version number? 1.103.315.1020
What expansions, game packs, and stuff packs do you have installed? all of them
Steps: How can we find the bug ourselves? Have a sleeping sim in the household, with an available chair in their bedroom. Have another sim do their homework.
What happens when the bug occurs? The sim doing homework will always (or at least when their relationship is high enough) try to do their homework in the same room as the sleeping sim. No matter where they were before, no matter how many chairs are available, no matter if they have to go through the entire house to go to that bedroom.
What do you expect to see? I expect the sim to just do their homework in the same or a neighboring room. But certainly not halfway across the lot, right next to someone who is sleeping.
Have you installed any customization with the game, e.g. Custom Content or Mods? Not now. I've removed them.
Did this issue appear after a specific patch or change you made to your system? No

I understand this probably happens because sims are coded in a way to do their tasks close to their loved ones, friends, family, like they did in TS2. But they shouldn't go out of their way to walk through countless rooms for that. There's gotta be a balance. Plus it's very weird to walk up to a sleeping sim for that. Leave them alone. They even favor a chair next to a sleeping sim over using an actual desk that was right next to where they were standing before.

And even if I command the sim to sit on a specific chair right after I told them to do their homework, they will still first walk up with their homework to the sleeping sim, sit down, and only then will they go where I told them to and finish their homework there.

This like countless other things we could fix ourselves if those walking actions were not hidden from us, but were actually shown in the queue and were actually cancellable.

  • @LunaticVariant This drives me nuts too! There’s a kitchen table full of chairs, there’s a couch, there’s a picnic table outside… but no, sim kid comes home from school and immediately goes to do homework sitting ON a sleeping toddler sibling in their bed.

Though I have found actually giving them a desk can help. Most of the time if there’s a desk available they’ll prefer the desk. Still, what’s wrong with the kitchen table?
