@PrincessCapriana Could you test on a fresh save for testing purposes to see if it's related to your save ?
I tried that too. Brand new save with brand new sim. Didn't work.
Would you be willing to share your save with me ?
If so, please zip your saves folder and upload it somewhere like dropbox,, googledrive or OneDrive and PM me the link.Even though you say it happens for all saves, I'd like to see if I can duplicate on your main one.

I tried again with another sim in that save (the purple alien named Neil Capps). He was able to introduce himself to a cat. I tried again with the human woman I have living in Brindleton Bay (Kenzie Quigley), and she still can't interact with animals she's never met.
The other sims I tried with earlier are Andrew Nickerson in New Crest and Roland Nickerson in Willow Creek. Both are half aliens.

EDIT; So I tested your save, even with only the packs you own installed and I still have no issues.
Does it matter if you initiate the interaction while standing or sitting ?
