Sims just...not doing what you tell them to do
I'm curious how to work around this, since it's been an issue for years so I'm not betting it ever getting fixed.
I instruct a Sim to do something, like read to their child. The go through the conversation of starting the task. But then they just stand there for several seconds, and the task just disappears and they never do it. This sort of thing happens constantly for all kinds of tasks. I'll set up a task for my Sims and then randomly they just cease. I have autonomy OFF. All kinds of tasks, whether it's interacting with other sims or cooking or using the toilet or even running the sales table. They just stop randomly for no reason I can discern.
I'm curious as to why this happens. Anything I (the player) specifically instruct my Sim to do should always take precedence over anything the game might be trying to do. So how do I fix this?
