Sims stop their actions and I lost the save

My game is really buggy. First of all, I've already removed all the mods and it's still buggy. What's going on? My sims stop their actions. They just hover. I try to save the game to restart and I can't, the game doesn't save or let me exit. I end up having to restart my PC. This happens mostly when I'm about to marry a sim, or after several actions done in a row. The game literally freezes, the sims do nothing, just stare at each other, and I can't save the game. I've lost a lot of saves in just a few days. This started happening since the last update.
