Sims wear hats in their nude outfit (Patch 1.119.109)

After today's update (5 November 2025), sims still wear hats in their nude outfits and when they are taking a bath/shower.

Never used cc/mods. Windows 11 PC

I can't comment on the original post since it's now tagged as "fixed" and the option to comment has been removed.[EA Forums] Sims will stop wearing hats while in their nude outfit.

I just tested this on a new save and the bug seems to be fixed for premade sims in the new save and for sims I transferred from the old save.

However, when I return to the old save, the bug returns. I think the bug fix only applies to new saves. The developers didn't specify that on their post. I guess I have to start from scratch for this one.

It was only fixed for new save files unfortunately, not for saves made before the Nov update. My sim is still wearing his random hat I didn't give him when he showers too and has been since the September update. I would like to try a new save but my game is totally broken on ps4 since this new update and I can't even play it now 😤

so does that mean for those of us playing a legacy game/forever save -- our sims are stuck with hats in the shower forever? 🙃

beth-mij "so does that mean for those of us playing a legacy game/forever save -- our sims are stuck with hats in the shower forever? 🙃"

Yes. Unfortunately, that is the case for those with "master" saves or those who play on one save only and build upon it. This is where I realized that a master save is not really feasible since the game has, without exaggeration, over a thousand bugs, and every time a patch fixes some of them, it may not apply to a current save so we need to re-build in a new save if we want to continue playing with the same scenarios and also see the bugs fixed.

Some downsides to this that I noticed which you might be interested in "rebuilding"

    1. Sim's relationships within the household and to all other sims will be reset.
      1. This includes stray animals you might have befriended, the bunnies, birds and foxes. Also to premade townies like Crumplebottom, the ghost sims Mimsy and Bernard, Guidry, if you befriended them in your previous save, among others.
    2. The upgrades you made for each of the appliances, beds and electronics will not be carried over so you need to upgrade all of them again.
      1. This also applies to the Chicken Coop and Animal Shed in Cottage Living. You will need to go through all of the Errands again to get the special upgrade parts. (Except if you cheat the upgrade parts. Nonetheless, you need to upgrade the coop and shed still.)
    3. Modifications you made in the pre-made lots will be reset.
    4. Service sims in pre-made community lots will be reset. If you have customized service sims for each community lot, you need to customize them again.
      1. Good Note: However, if you have a set of custom sims which are designated for certain services such as maid, repair service, mail delivery, and even butlers. If you transfer them to your new save, they will resume their previous roles from the previous save.
    5. In new saves, pre-made cats, dogs, and horses are missing. (Ex. Premade household pets (especially Bittlebuns), Mayor Whiskers, Capt. Whitaker in Brindleton Bay) You can download the default households with pets from the Gallery and replace the households in the new save. HOWEVER, since Mayor Whiskers and Capt. Whitaker are special pet sims in Brindleton Bay who do not have households but exist only when you chance upon them while wandering, they will forever be gone in the new save unless you download them in the gallery and transfer them to an existing household.
    6. Clubs will be reset. You need to meet everyone again, create each club, invite members to clubs, socialize, earn club points and get all the club perks.
    7. Roommates will not be carried over. If you have a gameplay where you have custom roommates in an apartment or university housing, they will be reset even if you transfer the same sims in the new save. You have to get a workaround to invite them again. (Try placing them in a cheap lot, visit it then invite them as roommate.)
    8. Organizations will have new different members.
    9. Caution: Your inventories will be cleared so if you have collectibles or items you have exclusively for that sim like his/her diploma, a laser gun, bicycle, football, among others, I suggest you place them in a lot and then claim them again.
    10. Your calendar will be reset. If you have custom holidays like Halloween, Flowerbunny Day, Festivus, Oktoberfest, you have to rebuild those as well.
    11. Your plants will be reset including their maturity and quality.

These are some of the things that you have to rebuild if you want to "continue" where you left off from your old save into your new one. These are just based on my experience from the few packs that I have. I'm sure there are many others.

Some sims are still wearing a hat when “nude”. Although it was supposed to have been fixed in November, not all Sims are fixed. Also, they are wearing make up too.
I removed the hat from the main everyday outfit but no change hat is still there when nude.
I removed all make up too, but no change to when nude.
Platform - X Box. No mods or cc ever used.

    Hi RubyLarkspur

I merged your post with the main thread. Unfortunately already bugged Sims will continue to wear them and on console I'm not aware of any fixes.

Do you get the issue on new Sims created after the patch that fixed it ?
