Spellcasters No Longer Magically Speed Stirring The Cauldron

Product: The Sims 4
Platform:PC
Which language are you playing the game in? English
How often does the bug occur? Every time (100%)
What is your current game version number? The most recent patch
What expansions, game packs, and stuff packs do you have installed? All expansions except Discover University. All game packs, All stuff packs except for fitness, toddler, pets, and backyard.
Steps: How can we find the bug ourselves? Play as a spellcaster experimenting on the cauldron. Keep going till they rank up to Acolyte or Master. Pay attention to how they STIR.
What happens when the bug occurs? We all know new low ranking spellcasters will physically stir the cauldron with their hands like a lame newbie. Eventually as they rank up and buy Blender Arm and the other speed perks they (are supposed to) switch to the hands free magical stiring and keeping the flames going. Since the recent update all Active Played Master and Virtuoso spellcasters are stuck looking like newbs when they stir. Now the NPC spellcasters running arround the magic realm do speed stirring just fine. Those of us active ones however are no longer switching to speed mode when ranking up. Worse yet my older spellcasters who did speed mode just fine before the update have embarrassingly reverted to Newbie Stir mode and getting exhausted.
What do you expect to see? Spellcasters speed stirring like they are supposed to when they rank high enough to do it.
Have you installed any customization with the game, e.g. Custom Content or Mods? Not now. I've removed them.
Did this issue appear after a specific patch or change you made to your system? Yes
Please describe the patch or change you made. The last one to prepare for Discover University.

As written above. If my advanced spellcasters aren't embarrassed by how they are stuck stirring like a newb, I am embarrassed for them.

*facepalm* 😱😒

And yes I do play with mods. Yes I removed them, cleaned everything up, played a clean game, and it still does it. I even ran a repair through Origin. Still didn't fix the problem.

And Im not sure if its a buff or not, so don't know what I am looking for to even cheat it back in. 😒

  • You mean this stirring ?

My Sim still seems to use it. On both brewing and experimenting.

Also uses magic for the fire.

Did you test a fresh save for testing purposes ?

Update: apparently your creator accidentally leaving the game on all night and starving to death, screaming at your sister and installing D University seems to fix the problem...

    😒😱😂

Will update if I see it again elsewhere. 😯

@aidans1985 Sounds like a good solution for now (unless if Uni fixed it, it's still a bug)

I'm going to move this to General discussion for now as it's solved for you and no one else seems to have the issue.

Might move back if more folks have this or if it occurs again for you.
  • @crinrict That would be a little disturbing if installing DU fixed it. Either that or it was the whole starving to death and being a spellcaster ghost that did it. 😳😱😂

I am glad your game is fixed even with such extreme circumstances.

Your "solution" did give me a chuckle.

@EuphorialQueen I spoke too soon. Pretty sure its a mod conflict somewhere. Soon as I put mods back in it started doing the newbie stir again. Pretty sure they are all updated. 😒😯😱
