Stuck saving

Last night I was working on a house and when I went to save it got stuck saving. I had to force shut the computer to get out. I am so tired of messy updates I want to back to the time when the sims came in cd's and there were no updates to worry about. FIX WHAT YOU BROKE, PEOPLE!!! WE ARE PAYING TO PLAY!!!
