Yes they are very overpriced for what you get. But, you can go to this website called where you can search up The Sims 4 DLCs. I do suggest you check out this website as stuff packs are under $5. Yes, this website is 100% safe and IS NOT a scam. G2A is a well known website that sells games for a cheaper price. You can purchase a game and get the key to enter it in.
@natsnorigin G2A is not an authorized seller of EA games, and so buying a code from that site is a real risk. You never know why a given game or pack is so cheap: it might have originally been stolen or otherwise fraudulently obtained.
I've seen many posters show up on the forums wondering why their games suddenly didn't work, or their packs disappeared, and it turned out their codes bought from G2A or a similar site were cancelled by EA. This can happen weeks or even months after the fact, as some accounting department identifies active codes for which EA was never paid. The players can't use their purchases anymore, and often enough, it's too late to request a refund from the website.
So I would never recommend anyone buy from any unauthorized source. If people don't want to go through Origin directly, Amazon is a good choice, as is any vendor on this list:
