Suggestion: add a boyfriend/girlfriend/partner option to relationships in CAS

I noticed that this wasn't really an option when I was creating two young adults who I meant to be "fresh" in their relationship and new in town. And when you place that kind of household on the lot, of course they won't have any romantic relationship levels because I had to make them only household members for the narrative. And all this got me thinking...wouldn't it add some realism to the game? Nowadays, people get married later in their lives and some are fine without marriage.

Yes, you could easily fix the relationship status to bf/gf with mods or flirting once you are playing and get on with your story. But some players, who might also like this option in CAS but don't use mods, would probably find this useful, not just for their own game but also when uploading households.

And yes, it might defeat the whole purpose of your sims' dating experience in the Sims, but...sometimes I like to play with a regular nuclear family and sometimes with a young couple, who are together but not married.

You can already live together as you describe. Set them as Household members. Once you move in to a home you can quickly advance friendship and romance and they will live happily as an unmarried couple.

  • @t00sa Hi!  I like that idea.  It should be easy enough to add to CAS so that your sims have a bit of the romance bar going in, without being married.  You got my "me too". :-)

Once, I created two sims but placed them separately.  Then, I had one of them meet and invite the other to be a roommate.  It was nice to only have to control the one sim at first and let the relationship develop somewhat on it's own. It turned out to be an interesting story.

@JonaO703 Thanks for summarizing my suggestion so well lol! To be able to have pre-existing romantic relationship levels without marriage.
