Suggestion: Sims eat and drink at the nearest designated areas

When I make food (8 servings) at home, sim just leaves the dish on the countertop and other sims grab serving and eat around the countertop when I want them to eat in the dining area or living room. For me to achieve this, I need to manually move the dish (with multiple servings) to a table before sims eat them.

When I order food from stalls/bars, sim just goes on to eat it right away. I wish I could order multiple dishes (1 serving each) and/or a dish with multiple servings from stalls/bars and have call my group to eat/drink.

Also would be nice if I could ask sims to eat and drink together, like how we would in real life.

    @d230308 To get sims to eat together, I just click on the plate (needs to have multiple servings left) and chose Call to meal. That way all sims on the lot come and grab a plate as long as there is any food left.

    @BylineBelife I do this too, but then even if nearby there is a table with enough seats for everyone, some sims go to eat in other places further away and not all together at the table, I wish there was a way to convince them to eat in the closest place close and together...
    It also happens in the garden with the grill, after cooking the meal, instead of sitting nearby, and all together at the table, they go to other more distant places...

    I get this too. What helps is to set the dining table by clicking on it and adding place settings. Once a dining table has place settings, Sims will all sit there. It works on outdoor tables too. I can't remember if it was added as a feature with a pack though, or if it's an option as part of the base game. It joined my game a couple of years ago if I remember correctly.

    It can be a little annoying as you have to keep tidying the table but they will sit together.

    It just annoys me when it's somewhere where that's not possible, I add camping seats when travelling but they still look for a pool to sit in to eat instead. Also they won't sit together at festivals.

    @simsplayer818 I'll try setting the table to test it out as a roundabout solution to this issue. lol So hard to get the household to eat a meal (and drink in hand would be nice too) at the same time.

    @d230308 They will sit down at the table if they have a plate in their hand and you tell them to sit in a chair as far as sitting together, just use the add to group thing and they stay by each other, and you can give the group orders.

    @d230308 I've found it's a little better if there's only one option. I usually have counter seating and a dining room. I just had one table with this Sim and she sat at the table. But if her dogs left the room she sat where they were, which was annoying. If they were in the kitchen she sat at the table.
