Teen sim often has “day off” from high school

I’ve had high school years ever since it came out and I have never had this issue.

I recently got a new pc and started a new save, it was fine for a few days until for the last two days when my teen sim goes to high school it does not give me to option to go with them, and every other sim day it says they have a “day off” where the option to “go to school” should be.

Similarly, when my sim has an after school activity, they don’t go to it but i get the option to “go to activity”. When i click on this option nothing happens, which makes them miss the activity.
