Well, I saw a video review of this pack. Much like the reviewer, I feel this could have been either a freebie or they should have waited on the release of Cats and Dogs and made a Pets pack. Then of course there were my other two thoughts where they could have waited and made an amazing Cats and Dogs stuff pack full of fun stuff and an expansion pack dedicated to Small Pets. Again, one to the pets offered in this pack, along with ferrets, rabbits, weasels, tortoises, turtles, amphibians, insects, reptiles, birds...
The stuff was cute, but again, I cannot see any of my personal Sims using most of the stuff. A lot of it really just made me think of someone who'd go completely wild and dedicated an entire room or even their whole house to animals, or basically a kid's room or items great for something like an elementary school classroom or a daycare.
About the only things that have a chance of being used by me would be the Aquarium table, which apparently has no fish changing/buying options - a mighty shame, the couches, the animal picture cluster and maybe the tall standing cat/dog lamp. I'd probably make a Sim who would keep a hamster, hedgehog, mouse/rat or that platypus/duck/ram thing just to see the rocket. I did find the mirror and the small animal desk/table lamp cute, but very unlikely to be used.
Overall, the stuff in the pack is very cute. I liked pretty much everything in it, but would it be stuff I'd use in game? Not really. The ones who would get the most out of this pack is likely a small majority. A Simmer who likes/loves to make families or focus on kid Sims would probably benefit from this pack. A Simmer who loves to build might benefit from this pack if they are hard set for certain items. Those desperate for a hamster, hedgehog, mouse/rat or just wants to get an exotic violet creature with ram horns and a duck bill may cave into this. A dog or cat fanatic who just needs everything related to dogs or cats may cave this...
I love cats and adore animals in general, but not enough to spend money on this. I'll save that money for my RL furry family member.
@Player_jp5s5eav, well at least you know what's in the pack, so your decision can be one you are happy with. 😉 But as a Simmer who loves making families, this pack is a very good fit for me! ❤️ (Not to mention I'm a dog fanatic too!) 😃:eahigh_file:🐶 And if there weren't dogs in the world, I would be a cat fanatic! 😇
Also, the "exotic violet creature with ram horns and a duck bill" is one of the Voidcritters that you can trade cards for in the Parenthood GP! 😃🥳 I forget its name right now. 😳

PugLove888,
That's cool. 'Good to know it fits two of your niches! I have never raised a Sim kid and I don't have the Parenthood Game Pack... I'm still just a newbie slowly trying out everything from the Base Game so far - I haven't even married any Sims yet, but there is a pair who are at least engaged now! 😳 Someday... (Unless I die prematurely... O.o...)
Yeah, that Voidcritter, was called something like "Bubullous". I couldn't read the text on the video and the Simmer reading it couldn't pronounce the name. Well, that should be absolutely awesome for a Simmer who has really gotten into the Voidcritter card game aspect for their child to teen Sims!
Though I still don't really imagine myself dressing up any of the pets my Sims own, I do find it enjoyable to see the animals walk around in outfits in the game. From what I saw on the new pet clothing options for them, they were a bit limited. My main thought was that it was a good starter, though and had enough variety where modders who want to more matching clothes can edit the things provided without too much trouble.
If you get it, I hope you have a blast with the stuff!

@Player_jp5s5eav, thanks! Yes, not every pack is for every person (For example, I know a lot of people who would never buy the Vampries pack because they either want a more realistic experience, or for religious reasons. But those that don't mind playing with supernatural Sims really love the Vampires pack! ) So I understand how this might not be the pack for you! And thanks for your wishes that that those who want this pack to really enjoy it! 😇
I think its cool that you are playing your Sims slowly, getting them engaged, and then building from there! Kind of like savoring a good meal! 🥳 You should appreciate the finer details that way. 😎 _If you ever do make it to having a full family before your Sims die, you can always get Parenthood then, if you want. I do highly recommend it to people who like to play with families.❤️ )
I've only played with My First Pet Stuff a little bit because I got a massive headache due to seasonal allergies, so I had to quit playing shortly after I made my first family. 😞 But so far I liked the CAS options! 🥳 I also just started playing with the small pets in my game, but really hadn't done anything with them so far. But they are pretty cute, and I can't wait to interact with them more! ❤️ And I think the Voidcritter one is my favorite! 😃
Have fun navigating a Sim wedding, marriage, and having a baby (when your Sims are ready!). Until then, have fun just exploring The Sims 4 in general! ❤️🥳
