The Sims 4 on Steam - is transfer to Origin possible to play on Mac?

Hi! I want to buy The Sims 4 and I was wondering if I could buy it on Steam and transfer it to Origin to play on Mac? The Steam store is on sale but the game only shows as available for Windows. Coul...

@inescruzalm I guess you could try ? I don't know if you can still redeem Steam keys on Origin and where to find them exactly once bought but if it doesn't work, it should be easy to get a refund on Steam.

That said, you'd be trying at your own risk. I can't guarantee anything, never tried myself.

I know it was possible for Sims 3 to redeem your Steam keys at one point but don't know either if that's still the case

You won't be able to play the Mac version through Steam, you would actually need to redeem the key and then play through Origin.

If you decided to try, do post back if it worked. I'm sure others would want to know too.

@crinrict Thank you for answering. I know I would still have to play through Origin being on a mac, I was just wondering if you could do it. I have been researching and the transfer was possible before on other games, but I don't know if you can still consult your game keys on Steam on all games. Someone with a bought license on Steam could try it, that would be great. I don't want to take the chance of it not working, even if I would like to save some money ☹️

  @inescruzalm I can't figure out how to find the Steam key myself, tbh. I can't try as I already have the game on Origin as well.

    @crinrict Yes, I think I'll wait for a Origin sale, if I have no other reply that confirms if my idea is possible. Thank you for the help anyway. 🙂
